Shut down by the Senators

On Monday night the Devils faced the the Ottawa Senators. The Senators were leading with one goal until the Devils tied in the 2nd period. Then the Senators jumped out in front with the Devils closely following for another tie in the third period. The Devils played hard but the Senators ultimately prevailed in the shootout. However, while this loss stings, the Devils remain in playoff position. This Friday they face the Tampa Bay lightning on foreign turf- let's hope the Devils don't get fried!

Split week for the Devils

The beginning of the week the Devils faced the Rangers. Unfortunately, the final goals were out of range for the Devils. With a 3-2 loss, the Devils fell to the ninth position in the eastern conference.  They needed to win Thursday night to be within the top 8 seeds. The next day they found out that Marty would return to starting goal. This special report was welcomed by fans, because the team had overall struggled without him in starting position. Rather than being blown away by the hurricanes again, the Devils weathered the storm with minimal damage. A 4-1 win meant that the Devils had returned to their previous position. The Devils play the Panthers on Saturday night. Prepare to be hunted!

Devils Fly away with a Win

Photo Credit: Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

On the evening of March 13th,  the Devils beat the flyers 5-2. The first period set up the rest of the game with three goals scored by the Devils. While the Philadelphia Flyers scored in the first and third period,  their two goals were not enough to recover from their sloppy playing. With this game and Sunday's win,  the Devils have now won two in a row and are tied for 6th place in the Eastern Conferance. It appears that the Devils are heading back to their winning ways.

Devils find Redemption

This was an up and down week for the Devil's. Tuesday night they found themselves stuck by the Tampa Bay Lightning- this was a 4-2 loss. However, in another home game on Thursday, they finally ended their horrific losing struck with a shootout victory against the Buffalo Sabres. In a road game on Saturday, they once again played a horrible game and were blown to defeat by the Carolina Hurricanes. As unlikely as it would seem, these Devils found redemption this Sunday in a home game against Winnipeg Jets with a 3-2 shoot out win. The win on Sunday marked a strong finish for the Devils this week.

Stay tuned for hockey updates!
